PicoSure Tattoo Removal

What is the PicoSure Laser for Tattoo Removal?

The most advanced system for Tattoo Removal today, the PicoSure Laser by Cynosure offers revolutionary new technology that far exceeds the capabilities and comfort levels of its predecessors. As the world's first "picosecond" laser, PicoSure's ultra-short wavelength (a trillionth of a second) breaks ink into much smaller fragments, making it more readily absorbed by the skin as well as less painful to eliminate. Even dark, stubborn blue and green inks, as well as previously-treated tattoos, can be removed in fewer treatments and with less damage to the surrounding skin resulting in shorter recovery times.

Is PicoSure Tattoo Removal safe?

When performed by qualified professionals, PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal is a safe and simple, FDA approved procedure that offers greater clearance and more comfortable treatments than any other machine available today.  At Flash Lab, our technicians are certified laser specialists as well as licensed estheticians who provide consults before every session to ensure your skin is properly prepped and safe for treatment.

What does PicoSure Tattoo Removal feel like?

This procedure is slightly more uncomfortable than getting a tattoo, however it is very fast. Most treatments take between 25-60 seconds. If needed, patients can apply numbing cream to the area 30 minutes before the treatment.

How many sessions will I need to remove my tattoo?

While other lasers can require between 15 and 20 treatments, PicoSure can at times clear the skin in as little as three sessions. However client's needs vary greatly so to provide you the best possible results, Flash Lab offers complimentary consultations and recommends a tailored program specifically for your tattoo removal. Typically sessions are spread six weeks apart to allow for proper ink dispersal and to avoid scarring.

I just got my tattoo last week. Can I have it removed right now?

While we understand the urgency of wanting a bad tattoo removed, your skin needs time to heal. In order to avoid further damage to your skin we require that clients wait six weeks after getting their tattoo before starting treatment to have it removed.

I've already had a number of Tattoo Removal treatments on other machines and the ink is not completely cleared. Can PicoSure remove what's left?

Unlike traditional lasers, PicoSure is great at removing previously treated tattoos. PicoSure can even remove recalcitrant tattoos (tattoos previously treated more than 10 times).

How should I prepare for my Tattoo Removal treatment?

Before treatment you will need to be free of significant sun exposure, as well as light sensitive medications such as antibiotics, for at least two weeks. You'll also want the skin to be clean and free of make up and in cases where it applies, shaved one day prior to your session.

What should I expect after my Tattoo Removal treatment?

In order to avoid irritation to the skin we advise that you avoid exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment and significant sun exposure to the area until it has healed. In some cases slight blistering or scabbing may occur. In this case it is important not to pick at the skin but rather apply a healing ointment and cover it with gauze to prevent scarring.
