Injectables

What are Injectables?

Injectables offer a safe, easy and non-surgical way to erase and prevent visible signs of aging. Comprised of two main categories, wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers, injectables can be used for everything from lip augmentation to wrinkle reduction and scar removal. Flash Lab is excited to be partnered with double board certified and renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Theodore Diktaban to bring you this highly sought-after service. A master at the art of injecting, Dr. Diktaban maintains a focus on realistic and natural-looking results.

What is the difference between Wrinkle Relaxers and Dermal Fillers?

Wrinkle Relaxers like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, are made from purified forms of Botulinum toxins and are designed to relax the muscles into which they are injected. By interfering with the muscles’ ability to contract, these products will reduce the appearance of the wrinkles you do have and at the same time prevent the development of new ones. These treatments are perfect for relaxing lines between the eyebrows, on the forehead and around the eyes for “crow’s feet.” Results typically last 3-6 months however to maximize anti-aging effects Dr. Diktaban recommends maintaining a regular schedule of use.

Dermal Fillers like Juvaderm and Restylane help to diminish lines and restore volume by "filling in" creases or hollow areas in the face. Perfect for plumping lips, enhancing shallow contours, softening wrinkles and improving the appearance of recessed scars, fillers are a fast and easy alternative or addition to facial rejuvenation surgery. Based on the areas that you wish to treat, Dr. Diktaban creates a customized plan for each of his patients. Results can last anywhere from 4-9 month with Restylane, Perlane, Juvaderm and Belotero to 9-12 month with Radiesse to up to 2 years with Sculptra and Volume. As with relaxers, best results occur for dermal fillers are achieved when regularly treating problem areas.

Are Injectables safe?

When administered by a qualified professional, injectables are a perfectly safe and easy alternative to more invasive surgeries with extensive periods of downtime. With over 32 years of experience, Dr. Diktaban was listed in 2015 as one of the "Top Plastic Surgeons in New York" by Castle Connolly for the 14th consecutive year in a row. He has also been a dedicated trainer and teacher to other physicians in these techniques.

What do injectables feel like?

Wrinkle Relaxers like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin can be administered with a fine gauge needle while Dermal Fillers such as Juvaderm and Restylane are mixed with a numbing agent keeping all injectable treatments virtually pain free.

What should I expect after my Injections?

Some swelling might appear surrounding the injection site(s). This can be minimized by the application of cold compress or cold gel packs. This reaction may last a few hours or a few days. Slight bruising might develop but will dissipate over time. Make-up can be applied immediately after the treatment and can be used to cover up any bruising or irritation that develops. Over all you will find these office treatments to be rather comfortable and rarely, should you encounter any real discomfort after your injections.

Dr. Diktaban recommends that you do not lie down for the first 4 hours and limit exercise for the first 24 hours after injectables are administered to minimize swelling. Routine injections create optimal results if maintained on a regular basis. Individual results vary according to your age, product, skin condition/skin type, as well as environmental factors.
